This coffee comes to us from the Comayagua region of Honduras. The growers there have formed a cooperative knows the Cultivadores de Reino or as known in English, “Kingdom Growers.” The coffee is imported by Vournas Coffee Traders, and helps support the work of a non-profit called Growers First. Vournas and Growers First work directly with this cooperative in Honduras to help them produce some of the finest coffee coming from the region.
Many do not realize that Honduras is one of the most violent countries in the world and it’s through partnerships like this, we can begin to transform communities and affect the lives of rural coffee growers. Vournas pays a premium to these growers for their outstanding coffee, and have helped establish facilities such as a VCT training office in Honduras, which teaches farmers about cupping and quality control at the farm level, and basic needs such as desks for school children. Enjoy this coffee knowing that it goes a long way to support these growers and their families in Honduras!
